One Last Time…
I just uploaded sermon notes to Destiny’s web site one last time.
It was on April Fool’s of 2001 that Deanna and I were hired on (we always wondered if it was some kind of weird joke). And we were on staff as youth pastors there until the summer of 2010, when we moved out-of-state to pursue Deanna’s education in the medical field. At that time, I continued on staff working as a long-distance Tech Pastor.
At the end of the month, I’m turning over all my tech responsibilities to Derick as I transition into my new role as Worship/Associate Pastor at NorthRock Church in Thornton, CO. Read more about that here (if you haven’t already).
Brent, Tani and I were kind of joking around about “turning in the keys” before the Christmas Eve service earlier this week, but honestly, there are so many great memories and friendships at Destiny that it’s not easy to take this turn. I really felt safe and cared for as a young leader at Destiny and, looking back, much of who I am now as a minister, a leader and a musician is because of how I was shaped through my time in Rapid.
That being said, thank you so much to all of our Destiny family, friends and staff for making those memories and friendships part of our #JOURNEY. We will always think back fondly on our time there with you and will continue to come back for visits whenever we can!
