Pastor Appreciation Chapel

I was invited to Bella and Kella’s school this morning to be honored at a special pastor’s appreciation chapel. Bella was chosen to sing her first public solo and Kella was also singled out to say a prayer. Bella got a little flustered when her part came and only got out a couple of lines, but to this Daddy’s heart, they both were spectacular and they make me so proud!

Here We Go

If you haven’t heard, the Shoup family is on the move again. We’ve made lots of amazing friends in Duluth and we love our girls’ schools, our church family, and our neighborhood. It’s not an easy transition, because of all of these things, but we feel as if it is the best one for our family. Our plan is to move back to Rapid to stay with family, work a couple of jobs to save up some money, and then move on to the next step in Deanna’s educational pursuits in the early summer.

We are moving our stuff into storage next week on Friday and Saturday, March 2nd and 3rd. Deanna, because she’s always looking out for me and my still-healing back, planned this on a weekend when I’ll be out of town. If you have a strong back and are available, your help would mean so much to our family. We’re moving boxes on Friday and the bigger items and furniture on Saturday. Also, The Living Room Youth Group at Hillside Church, where I’ve volunteered for the last year with an amazing group of leaders and students, has announced a Shoup Family Farewell night on Wednesday, March 7th. Everyone’s invited! We’d love to see you one last time to say “good-bye” and reminisce a bit before we leave town that Friday. Click here for details (Facebook Event).

Bella’s Gummy Bear Party

It’s been ten years ago today since I became a father to this little girl. Wow!

And here’s some pics from the big day…

Celebrating Bella and Valentine’s

We opened gifts from Grandma and Grandpa last night, celebrating Bella’s 10th birthday and Valentine’s Day with them before they left town this morning.

Homecoming

Deanna pulled out the Flip and recorded Zi’s reaction as we entered the house after 6 days away – the longest we’ve been gone from him. His smile was BIG!

All the girls gave us warm receptions, too, but Autumn and Cyncha are a little more camera shy these days. :)
