The Big House

For those of you that have been following our house-hunt story for the past few months, it’s been filled with lots of emotional highs and lows. We were uber-excited about the “church house”, which we even made a family announcement video for [watch it here]. We actually signed papers on it for purchase but were let out of the agreement after appraisers couldn’t come up with a way to appraise it. We then pursued rental and had a handshake agreement on a great monthly price. That fell through, too, as they ended up raising it before we signed the final agreement. I was upset to say the least!

While looking at houses earlier in the year, we came across a 3,300 square foot, 3-level, 5-bedroom beauty just a half-mile from Lake Superior. It wasn’t too long and we had the papers signed. We moved in this past weekend and are now in the middle of the unpacking process. Here are some pics the previous owner took when selling…

We’ll be posting some of our own pics as we settle and get things organized. It’s so good to be home!

Zion’s First Birthday

He’s walking, talking, waving, kissing, and generally being an all too-cute little-BIG boy. Yup. Zion’s already one-year-old. I can’t believe it! I told him to stop growing, but he’s just not listening…

Early Birthday Celebrations

Zion and I both have birthdays this month. Since I’m going to be traveling next weekend on my birthday and Grandma Liz is in town, we decided to celebrate our birthdays (mine’s on the 11th and his is on the 20th) tonight with a birthday dinner, gifts, and Cold Stone ice cream cookies. Yum! Here’s some highlights from the day…

As you can see, Zi’s getting pretty good at the whole walking thing. I’m afraid it’s only gonna be another week or two and he’ll be all over the place! :)
