• Someone leaked a video of our rehearsal for Project Church.

  • My favorite line: “He is like a Mountie and He’ll zap you any way He can – zap!”

In spite of all the controversy, SONSEED was the real deal, and that was the REAL concert…bear in mind, it was 1982-3—I was one of the singers…and it happened EXACTLY as Sal Polichetti said…

Hey Jesus let’s go to the Dodger game when they get back into town and I’ll buy you a beer. Go Dodgers. Hey Jesus, Can you make sure the Dodgers get through the first round of the palyoffs this year? That would be great, thanks.

does anyone know all the lyrics to this? my band wants to do this for a talent show, and we need the lyrics.. 😀

  • Michelle

My band is doing it too for our Fall Festival at church. Here are the lyrics for the lead singer. The back up singers are pretty easy. As soon as I figure out the chords, I’ll post those too.

He taught me how to live my life as it should be.
He taught me how to turn my cheek when people laugh at me.
I’ve had friends before and I can tell you that
He’s one that will never leave you flat.

He taught me how to pray and how to save my soul.
He taught me how to praise my God and still play rock and roll.
The music may sound different but the message is the same.
It’s just an instrument to praise His name.

Once I tried to run, I tried to run and hide.
But Jesus came and found me and He touched me down inside.
He is like a Mountie, He always gets His man.
And He’ll zap you any way He can. ZAP!

He loves me when I’m right; He loves me when I’m wrong.
He loves me when I waste my time by writing silly songs.
He loves me when I’m quiet and I have nothing to say.
He’ll love me when I’m perfect if I ever get that way. WHOO!

    HAVE FUN!!

  • Thanks for the “WHOO!” there at the end. I would have missed that one and it is the most revealing lyric. 🙂

  • Jessica G

I like the “J-J-J-Jesus” at the end, hehe. It’s so rock and roll!

  • Chris

does anyone have a chord chart for this?

  • chris

    it’s so ska!

  • I tried to figure the song out on guitar. Here’s what I came up with:
    Intro: EE DD GG B
    Verse: E – E – A – B
    Verse Bassline: E, 3rd – 5th twice A, 3rd to 5th, B 3rd to 5th
    Chorus: A – E – B – E
    The Keyboard might play C#minor – B – A – E or something like that
And the first chord on the chorus is held a little longer the first time you play the progression.
Then of course the epic buildup to the “zap” part is held on B.
That solo is way to shredding for me to tab : )
Hope this helps next time you want to rock out for jesus.

  • Oops, correction…actually the buildup is F# then to B… my bad.
