Weekend with Michael Fugitt

We had a great weekend at Destiny with Michael Fugitt sharing at the Sunday morning and evening services. His music and ministry was “hopp’n” and many left Sunday night challenged to reach out to the world around us.

I got to hang out with Michael and his friend David for a good portion of Saturday (in the Hills) and Sunday (in Summerset), too.

Stay tuned for some video highlights of Sunday night’s concert.

The Ooze

I don’t want to gross anyone out — seriously — but if you would feel inclined to intercede for me, I definitely have a big, oozing, raw, open spot on my right arm that you could focus your prayers on for the next few days.

The doctor that was on for walk-in appointments yesterday had never seen anything like it. It is a couple inches wide, open, and has been oozing and secreting since Sunday night’s concert. Extremely gross, I know! I’ve went through several drenched bandages since then and am planning on picking up some gauze sometime this morning. The doctor prescribed me an antibiotic to stop what he assumes is some kind of fungal infection, which will most likely stop the oozing. He also referred me to the in-house dermatologist, but when I was checking out and trying to make my appointment, the lady at the front desk simply said that the dermatologist was booked and that I could not make an appointment at this time. Hmmmm…

So anyhow, I’m walking around now feeling like a prop-piece for some B-grade horror film called “The Ooze” or something like that. (grin) I’d appreciate your prayers for a quick “get-rid-of-this-thing”. Thanks.

The Reality Game

This, from the generation who does not know life without Internet connectivity and social web 2.0 sites…

I initially saw this on Jonathan’s blog from The Source for Youth Ministry, and now, I’ve seen it several places since.  Jonathan posted a related blog on a series of fascinating photos by photographer Evan Baden; the pics feature today’s young people seemingly mesmerized by the glow of their electronic devices.”
